A Geant4 Simulation on the Application of Multi-layer Graphene as a Detector Material in High-energy Physics

The excellent properties of graphene, such as its high thermal conductivity, electrical and electron density, make it an ideal candidate a detector material in high-energy physics applications. In this work, we demonstrate the feasibility multi-layer graphene (MLG) environment. Geant4 software package was used to estimate energy deposited electrons within various thicknesses MLG, ranging from 3 20 nm. efficiency MLG further analyzed scattering angle yield secondary particles produced interaction with material. incident electron’s kinetic herein ranged between 30 keV 1 GeV, at particle fluence 1×107 e/cm2. results show that relatively low for MeV electrons, dramatically increased thickness increases beyond 15 This result supported by highest gamma radiation recorded larger than MeV, suggest works best charged ranges, while over nm is suggested. findings could potentially be conditions.
